Would it be possible to get an amethyst recut into smaller pieces and where would i go to do it?

Long story short a necklace of my girl friend broke. its a silver pentagram with an amethyst around it in a donut shape. I was wondering if I could get the stone cut into smaller stones and have them set in a ring. where would i go for this? price? can i get the pentagram melted to make the ring?
