What war was it that..........?

Egypt (along with Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and others) Attacked Israel (surprise attack) in Oct of 1973. They took part of the Sinai, and Israel started losing on other fronts. Israel did an airborne ault into Egypt, virtually surrounding the Egyptian forces in the Sinai. Egypt surrendered.
