Which of these books do you like the best and why?

Their Eyes Were Watching God is a really good book-I haven't read the others. Hurston is very good at diction, unlike so many authors, but it can be hard to follow at first. Keep with it if you can. It has one of my favorite opening lines, and forgive me if I remember it wrong, something like: "Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board." Kinda deep, don't you think? It's not a warm and fuzzy book, don't read it if you only like happy endings, but I don't think you'll regret it if you read it all the way through. I think it's a very empowering book for women and it is a staple in any African American literature cl.
