Hyppothyrodism and a puffy face? Does it go away?

Because of my hypothyrodism, the symptomi recieved was that my face has become very puffy and round. My doctor has started me on Levothyroxine, 50 MCG tablets. Will it go away when i start taking my medicine? Because my doctor told me that the symptos should go away, is this true?
